At the annual Long Island Teachers Institute, Dickinson Avemue Elementary School was honored as a high performing school in the area of English as a Second Language. The criteria for this outstanding achievement required that 85 percent of all students must score at least one proficiency level higher on the New York State English as a Second Language test. ESL teacher Ms. Etayo and teacher aide Ms. Koestner are extremely proud of the accomplishments of their students adn the support they receive from all of the staff members and principal Anne Whooley.
